Registration for Thanksgiving Food Baskets

Registration for United Neighborhood Center's Thanksgiving Feed a Friend Food Basket program will begin Monday, November 1.

Families can register through November 19 at the agency's community services building at 410 Olive Street in Scranton.  Registration is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Thursday until 6 p.m.

The food baskets will be distributed on Tuesday, November 23 beginning at 10 a.m.  Each family will receive a basket containing a turkey, potatoes, carrots, break or croutons, cranberry sauce and canned vegetables.

United Neighborhood Centers is also partnering with the Upper Valley Project Committee to provide Thanksgiving baskets in Carbondale for those who can't participate in the Scranton program.  Registration for the Carbondale area residents will be held at Marian Community Hospital auditorium Wednesday, November 10 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, November 18 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Families must have children under 18 living at home. Proof of income and documentation of family members in the household are required at registration.

United Neighborhood Centers is accepting monetary and traditional Thanksgiving food donations to help the programs.
